Kylie’s poem about Caitlin

My 13 year old sister had to make a poem for school. She wrote about our angel, Caitlin. Thank you Kylie, I love and miss hugging you and Kino each and everyday..

CAITLIN

by Kylie Padilla

At night, morning, or dawn I could not remember when,

But my sister told me I would have a niece, I think I was nearly ten.

I was filled with joy that I could not feel low, it would be as exciting as watching a show.

A thought of some sort of younger sister was really nice to know.

On January 20, 2009,

It will be the day that will never be my sister’s or mine.

A problem was found that they hoped she would win, all this felt like it was a sin,

Sadly, this is the beginning of Caitlin.

It started all in her heart,

I was too young so I could not even take part.

After eight days I thought it was not too late.

She was doing well even in her state.

On the 31st of January, early that day she was turning blue,

The doctors and nurses were only trying to help you.

A whisper was said, “Your will be done,” and after a few minutes Caitlin was gone.

No more of us telling you to “hang on”.

I remember the morning when she told us what happened,

I could not believe it was real, I wished it was just pretend.

There is more to life than to dwell on the past although your time on earth was fast.

You are in a better place because you are an angel at last.

A balloon into the sky is how we celebrated your birthday,

You are very special so everyone go an make way.

I was so happy from my head to my shin that, everyone just needs to grin

Because, this is the beginning of Caitlin.

In the night, morning, or dawn I could not remember when,

But my sister tells me the story of Caitlin; I think I was older than ten.

I was filled with joy that I could not feel low, it would be as exciting as watching a show.

A thought of a new angel in the family was really nice to know…
